HAECO has partnered with Austrian aerospace testing specialist TESTFUCHS to develop dedicated test stands for Woodward fuel system components used in CFM International LEAP engines. Announced at MRO Europe in Amsterdam, the initiative aims to establish OEM-authorised component testing and repair capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.
The new LEAP Elite testing platform is scheduled to enter full operation in the first quarter of 2028, following successful validation. The investment will support HAECO’s expansion into licensed repair services for critical LEAP engine components, building on its Elite Licensed Repair Service Facility (LRSF) agreement with Woodward signed earlier this year.
The platform will comprise two dedicated test stands engineered to Woodward’s specifications for Fuel Metering Units (FMUs), Splitter Control Units (SCUs) and Servo Valve Assemblies (SVAs). Each repaired component will undergo testing and verification in accordance with Woodward’s requirements before being returned to service.
The partnership combines Woodward’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) expertise, TESTFUCHS’ testing technology and HAECO’s component repair capabilities. The companies aim to provide operators with access to authorised repair services closer to their operations, supporting component availability and maintenance efficiency.

George Edmunds, Group Director of Components and Engine Services at HAECO, said the collaboration represents a key step in establishing the company’s LEAP component repair capabilities. He noted that the investment would strengthen HAECO’s position in OEM-authorised repair services for LEAP components across Asia-Pacific.
John DiSilvestro, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Service at Woodward, highlighted the importance of maintaining OEM-level standards for every repaired component. He said HAECO’s partnership with TESTFUCHS demonstrates a commitment to quality and will help bring authorised repair services closer to regional operators.
Thomas Koppensteiner, Head of Sales and Product Portfolio and board member at TESTFUCHS, said the test stands are being developed in collaboration with HAECO and Woodward to ensure repaired components meet the expected reliability and performance standards.
The project comes as demand for LEAP engine maintenance is expected to increase as more engines enter their first shop visits. The LEAP family powers a substantial and growing portion of the global narrowbody fleet, creating additional demand for repair and overhaul services for associated components.
Through the investment, HAECO is developing the infrastructure and technical capabilities required to support OEM-authorised repairs of Woodward components for LEAP engines, with the platform expected to serve aircraft operators worldwide once operational.
