GE Aerospace will invest $225 million to modernise its Research Center in Niskayuna, New York, to support the development of technologies for future commercial and military aircraft.
The investment will upgrade the facility’s infrastructure and research equipment, which has served as a GE Aerospace technology development centre for more than 75 years.
The research programme covers advanced materials, future manufacturing, AI, autonomy, robotics, hypersonic propulsion and hybrid-electric flight. Around two-thirds of the investment will go towards site infrastructure, with the remainder funding new research equipment and technology.
GE Aerospace expects the project to create 75 new full-time positions over five years, while supporting research programmes with academic and US government partners.
