Collins Aerospace expands FlightSense support for Vietjet Air

Collins Aerospace has expanded its FlightSense™ agreement with Vietjet Air to cover an additional 44 GTF-powered Airbus A320neo family aircraft, extending component support and data-driven maintenance services to help the airline improve fleet reliability and manage maintenance costs.

The contract amendment adds support for Vietjet’s expanding fleet, with FlightSense providing guaranteed component availability, reduced downtime and greater cost predictability. The programme is intended to help the airline maintain aircraft availability while managing the maintenance requirements associated with its growing operations.

FlightSense is a full-lifecycle support programme powered by Collins Aerospace’s Ascentia analytics platform. The platform analyses operational data to help airlines identify maintenance requirements, optimise maintenance actions and improve fleet performance. By connecting data analysis with maintenance planning, the programme is designed to help operators anticipate requirements and make more informed decisions about aircraft and component support.

For airlines operating growing fleets, component availability is an important factor in managing maintenance schedules and limiting operational disruption. Delays in sourcing or replacing components can extend aircraft downtime and affect utilisation. Guaranteed availability under support agreements such as FlightSense is intended to provide greater predictability in component support and maintenance planning.

Jen Latka, vice president of Aftermarket, Power & Controls at Collins Aerospace, said FlightSense would help Vietjet convert raw data from its A320neo and A321XLR aircraft into more predictable maintenance requirements and improved reliability.

Vietjet Chief Operating Officer Michael Hickey said the expanded agreement would strengthen the airline’s engineering and operational capabilities, optimise fleet reliability and support its fleet and network expansion plans.

The agreement reflects the increasing role of data analytics and integrated component support in airline MRO strategies. As fleets grow, combining operational insights with component availability can help maintenance teams plan interventions more effectively, manage costs and support aircraft utilisation.

By extending FlightSense coverage to 44 additional aircraft, Collins Aerospace and Vietjet are expanding their cooperation around lifecycle support, with a focus on maintenance predictability and reliable fleet operations.
