Azorra expands widebody fleet with Airbus A330-200 acquisition from TrueNoord

Azorra has expanded its widebody portfolio with the acquisition of an Airbus A330-200 (MSN 1161) from TrueNoord, reinforcing its long-term investment strategy in widebody aircraft.

The aircraft is currently on lease to Maldivian Airlines, the national carrier of the Maldives, adding a new airline customer and operating jurisdiction to Azorra’s global portfolio.

The acquisition builds on Azorra’s continued focus on the widebody market following its purchases of Airbus A330 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in 2023. Over the past three years, the company has actively managed its widebody assets through lease extensions and aircraft transitions to new operators.

Azorra’s portfolio now comprises 194 owned and managed aircraft, including six widebody aircraft. The lessor said it remains committed to disciplined portfolio management while pursuing opportunities that deliver strong long-term value and meet sustained market demand.

“This acquisition reflects our continued investment in attractive aviation assets, opportunistic approach to portfolio management and confidence in the widebody market,” said Ron Baur, President of Azorra.

“The A330 remains a highly versatile aircraft with strong operator demand. We look forward to working closely with Maldivian Airlines and participating in their passenger growth through the successful operation of this aircraft,” he added.

The latest acquisition further strengthens Azorra’s presence in the widebody leasing segment while supporting the fleet expansion and growth plans of Maldivian Airlines.
