AMTRA Aero expands widebody support capabilities with Airbus A330-200 acquisition

AMTRA Aero Component Solutions (AACS) has acquired an Airbus A330-200 airframe, MSN 529, from Cargo Aircraft Management, Inc., further strengthening its widebody aircraft component portfolio and aftermarket support capabilities.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based aircraft component supplier announced that the aircraft will undergo disassembly and part-out operations, with serviceable components being recovered and added to the company’s inventory to support the global fleet of Airbus A330 operators.

The acquisition marks a strategic investment in high-demand aviation assets and underscores AACS’s commitment to supplying high-quality Used Serviceable Material (USM) to airlines, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers, and aviation asset owners worldwide. Recovered components will be distributed through the company’s international sales network.

Pablo Aguirre, CCO of AMTRA Aero Component Solutions, said the Airbus A330 continues to be one of the most widely operated widebody aircraft in commercial aviation. He noted that the acquisition enhances the company’s ability to provide operators with reliable and fully traceable components that help reduce maintenance expenses and improve aircraft availability.

According to the company, the teardown program will be carried out in line with industry best practices, ensuring strict adherence to quality assurance, documentation, and traceability standards while maximizing the value of the asset.

With the addition of a substantial inventory of Airbus A330 components, AACS aims to further strengthen its position in the global aviation aftermarket and meet increasing demand for cost-effective maintenance solutions.
