MTU Maintenance has signed a 10-year maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) agreement with US-based aviation asset owner and lessor Patriot Dynamics, covering CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines. The agreement includes engine shop visits and on-site maintenance support, strengthening MTU’s position in the North American engine aftermarket and supporting the expansion of its Fort Worth, Texas, facility.
Under the agreement, MTU Maintenance will provide engine MRO services and on-site support throughout the contract period, enabling Patriot Dynamics to access maintenance capabilities for its LEAP engine assets over their operating lives.
The partnership marks another step in the development of MTU Maintenance Fort Worth as the company expands its LEAP engine service programme. The facility is a Premier MRO provider for LEAP engine services and is currently ramping up its operations to support growing maintenance requirements.
Fort Worth Facility Supports LEAP Engine Expansion
Located adjacent to Perot Field Airport in Fort Worth, MTU Maintenance Fort Worth offers approximately 430,000 square feet of production and support space, alongside dedicated engine testing capabilities. The facility will conduct engine shop visits and provide on-site services under the new agreement.
Martin Friis-Petersen, SVP of MRO Programs at MTU Aero Engines, said the agreement demonstrates customer confidence in MTU’s capabilities and provides a strong foundation for the further development of its Fort Worth operations.
For Patriot Dynamics, the partnership provides access to MTU’s technical expertise and broader engine support capabilities. David Roajs, Partner at Patriot Dynamics, highlighted the breadth of MTU’s services, while Michael Sheldon, Principal at Patriot Dynamics, said the agreement would support the development of the company’s LEAP engine platform and help protect the long-term value of its assets.
