Air India selects Swiss-AS AMOSmro and AMOS CROM for MRO expansion

The digital platform will integrate commercial and maintenance processes as Air India develops its Bengaluru MRO facility and expands services for third-party customers.

Air India has signed an agreement with Swiss Aviation Software (Swiss-AS) to implement AMOSmro and AMOS CROM to support its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations. The agreement was signed on 23 September 2026 during the MRO Asia-Pacific event in Singapore.

The implementation will expand Air India’s existing AMOS Airline Edition deployment to include dedicated MRO and component repair capabilities. The solutions are intended to connect commercial and maintenance processes on a single platform, supporting the requirements of the Air India Group and the airline’s plans to grow its third-party MRO business.

The agreement comes as Air India develops a new MRO facility in Bengaluru, India, as part of its broader efforts to expand its maintenance capabilities.

Integrating commercial and maintenance ops

AMOSmro combines maintenance management capabilities with tools for managing customers, quotations, contracts, production, financial processes, and billing.

The platform is designed to help Air India manage the commercial and operational stages of an MRO job, from the initial customer request and quotation through planning, maintenance execution and completion. Bringing these processes together is expected to give teams a more coordinated view of work across the business.

For an MRO provider serving both an airline group and external customers, integrating customer-facing and maintenance activities can help establish consistent workflows as operations expand.

Component repair and overhaul management

The implementation will also include AMOS CROM, which supports component repair, overhaul, and manufacture.

The module covers the component maintenance process, including customer requests, component induction, quotations, work-scope definition, repair activities, material coordination, and release back to service. It is designed to help component MRO teams track jobs and the information required to progress work towards completion.

Together, AMOSmro and AMOS CROM will provide Air India with digital tools covering both broader MRO business processes and component-level maintenance activities.

Supporting Air India’s third-party MRO plans

Air India is developing its MRO capabilities to serve its own group requirements as well as external customers. As the business grows, the ability to coordinate maintenance work, materials, customer requirements and commercial processes will be important to managing operations across the expanding facility.

S. K. Dash, Chief Strategy Officer – Engineering at Air India, said the AMOSmro implementation would support integrated maintenance planning and execution, material and inventory management, maintenance records, compliance and operational control across the facility.

He added that the partnership with Swiss-AS reflects Air India’s commitment to combining engineering processes with aviation technology as it develops its MRO ecosystem.

Pierluigi Calù, Vice President, Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem Asia-Pacific at Swiss-AS, described Air India as a strategically important partner and said the company was proud to support its development as a commercial MRO provider in the region.

The agreement marks a step in Air India’s MRO digitalisation plans. Its longer-term contribution will be tied to how the platforms are implemented and integrated into the airline’s growing maintenance operations.
