TIM Aerospace makes 18,000-square-metre hangar available at Dubai World Central

TIM Aerospace has made its new 18,000-square-metre aircraft hangar at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) available for aircraft parking and hangar accommodation, marking another milestone in the development of its independent MRO platform in Dubai.

Located within the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub at Dubai South, the purpose-built facility provides substantial indoor aircraft capacity at one of Dubai’s key aviation locations.

TIM Aerospace said its EASA and GCAA Part-145 approval processes are progressing. While those approvals are underway, the facility is already available to airlines, cargo operators, aircraft owners and operators, business and private jet operators, as well as MRO and maintenance organisations requiring additional hangar capacity.

The facility can also accommodate operators that wish to carry out maintenance through their own approved Part-145 organisation.

The hangar forms part of a facility with a total built-up area of nearly 26,000 square metres. The fully climate-controlled, single-span hangar covers approximately 18,000 square metres and is designed to accommodate up to 12 narrowbody aircraft or five widebody aircraft simultaneously.

The facility is intended to support maintenance activities across a range of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, once the relevant regulatory approvals are in place.

Beyond the main hangar, the site includes approximately 8,000 square metres of workshops, warehouses and office space.

Specialist infrastructure includes 12 aircraft hangar doors, four overhead cranes and seven in-floor service pits, designed to support aircraft maintenance and associated engineering activities.

The availability of the hangar represents a further step in TIM Aerospace’s plans to establish an independent aircraft MRO platform at DWC. The company is targeting airlines, cargo operators, aircraft owners and operators, business aviation customers and other maintenance organisations seeking additional hangar capacity in Dubai.

The facility’s location at Al Maktoum International Airport also places TIM Aerospace within Dubai South’s growing aerospace and aviation ecosystem, where additional aircraft maintenance and engineering capacity is expected to support the region’s expanding aviation activity.

TIM Aerospace’s EASA and GCAA Part-145 approval processes remain underway. The company’s current opening therefore provides immediate hangar and aircraft accommodation capacity, while the regulatory approvals will enable the facility to expand into its planned maintenance operations.
