Thales expands avionics support for Malaysia Airlines A330 and A350 fleet

Thales has expanded its existing avionics component availability and repair agreement with Malaysia Airlines to cover 21 Airbus A330ceo and seven A350 aircraft.

Under the agreement, Thales will provide avionics spares and repair services for Malaysia Airlines’ fleet. Thales will carry out repairs on its avionics products, while spares availability and stock replenishment will be managed through Malaysia Airlines’ main hub and Thales’ Asia-Pacific repair hub in Singapore.

The arrangement is designed to provide Malaysia Airlines with access to repaired components and replacement spares while supporting component availability for its A330ceo and A350 operations.

The Singapore repair hub will support the regional component repair and replenishment requirements, while stock positioned at Malaysia Airlines’ main hub will provide access to replacement units when required.

“Thales is proud that Malaysia Airlines has once again placed its trust in our services and support. As a leading MRO in Asia, Thales is committed to providing premium services that contribute to an airline’s operational excellence,” said Thomas Got, Vice President, Aviation Global Services, Thales.

The expanded agreement adds the A350 to the aircraft covered by the arrangement and extends Thales’ avionics aftermarket support for Malaysia Airlines’ fleet in the Asia-Pacific region.
