Tecnam expands P2012 US aftermarket network with Finnoff and Blackhawk

Tecnam is expanding the US footprint of its P2012 aircraft with an aftermarket strategy built around localized maintenance support, appointing Finnoff as its exclusive Western US distributor while adding Blackhawk Performance Centers to the P2012 authorized service network.

The agreement, effective immediately, gives Tecnam a sales and support structure for the P2012 in the Western United States while establishing dedicated maintenance access for operators. Finnoff will act as the exclusive distributor for the P2012 series, including the P2012 VIP, while selected Blackhawk Performance Centers will provide authorized maintenance support.

For operators, the significance of the agreement goes beyond aircraft availability. The P2012 is designed for high-frequency operations across passenger, cargo, medevac, special-mission, and executive roles, making maintenance accessibility a critical part of its operating proposition. By connecting aircraft distribution with an established service network, Tecnam is building aftermarket support into its US expansion rather than adding it after the fleet is established.

Distribution and maintenance move together

Finnoff will operate as a stocking dealer, supporting aircraft sales and customer requirements across the Western US. At the same time, Blackhawk Performance Centers will provide localized maintenance capability for P2012 operators.

The model gives operators a clearer support pathway as the P2012 fleet expands. Regional access to authorized maintenance can help reduce the operational disruption associated with positioning aircraft for scheduled maintenance, inspections and other technical work.

The arrangement is particularly relevant for an aircraft designed around intensive utilisation. P2012 operators can use the platform for passenger transport, cargo, medevac and special missions, placing emphasis on aircraft availability and responsive technical support.

Tecnam Managing Director Giovanni Pascale Langer said the partnership is intended to strengthen both commercial and technical support for US customers.

“Expanding our footprint in the United States requires partners who share our dedication to quality, reliability, and customer success,” said Langer. “By partnering with them as our exclusive Western U.S. distributor and integrating Blackhawk Performance Centers into our authorized service network, we are ensuring that our P2012 operators receive the absolute highest standard of sales and technical support available in the American market.”

P2012 fleet growth creates a larger aftermarket opportunity

The P2012’s multi-mission configuration also creates different maintenance requirements depending on how individual aircraft are operated. High-frequency passenger operations can drive utilisation and cycle-related maintenance, while cargo, medevac and special-mission configurations can introduce different equipment and configuration requirements.

The P2012 VIP adds another dimension, with a premium cabin incorporating bespoke Italian craftsmanship, enhanced soundproofing and additional cabin equipment. Maintaining different aircraft configurations will require service providers to support both the underlying aircraft systems and mission-specific equipment throughout the fleet lifecycle.

Jon Boknecht, Vice President of Finnoff, said the company expects the aircraft’s versatility to appeal to operators across the Western US.

“The P2012 is a versatile, mission-ready aircraft that fills an important role for operators across a wide range of missions,” added Boknecht. “We’re excited to introduce this outstanding platform, including the exceptional VIP configuration, to customers throughout the western United States while supporting the entire fleet through our growing Blackhawk Performance Center network.”

The addition of authorized service capacity therefore gives Tecnam a foundation for supporting the P2012 beyond the initial aircraft sale. As the US fleet grows, the network can provide the maintenance infrastructure needed to support aircraft availability, technical support, and lifecycle requirements.

For Tecnam, the agreement signals a shift from simply expanding P2012 sales in the US to establishing a more complete sales-to-support ecosystem. For operators, that could prove just as important as the aircraft itself: a versatile aircraft only delivers its full value when the maintenance network can keep it flying.
