SriLankan Engineering has signed a long-term Line Maintenance Agreement with Jetstar, part of the Qantas Group, to support the airline’s Boeing 787 operations at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Under the agreement, SriLankan Engineering will provide line maintenance services for all Jetstar flights operating to Colombo. The contract expands the engineering division’s support for international airline operations and strengthens its presence in the regional line maintenance market.
The agreement will see SriLankan Engineering provide technical support for Jetstar’s B787 aircraft operating to and from Sri Lanka, covering the airline’s line maintenance requirements at CMB.
The partnership also represents a step towards SriLankan Engineering securing Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Part 145 approval from Australia. Once obtained, the approval is expected to enable the company to provide certification services for Jetstar flights operating to Sri Lanka, further expanding the scope of support it can offer the airline.
The agreement adds to SriLankan Engineering’s portfolio of international maintenance partnerships and reflects the growing role of Colombo as a regional aviation and MRO location.
