SR Technics begins CFM56 engine maintenance for Garuda Indonesia

SR Technics has commenced maintenance services for selected CFM56 engines operated by Garuda Indonesia. The work is being carried out through SR Technics’ engine maintenance operations in Zurich and supports the airline’s fleet readiness and ongoing engine maintenance requirements.

The programme forms part of Garuda Indonesia’s wider approach to maintaining the availability and reliability of its aircraft fleet. For the CFM56 engines covered by the cooperation, maintenance support will be provided through SR Technics’ established engine MRO capabilities.

The agreement also adds to SR Technics’ engine maintenance activity in the Asia-Pacific market, with the company providing MRO services for operators through its international network.

“Our work with Garuda Indonesia is built on close collaboration and a shared focus on operational performance,” said Owen McClave, CEO of SR Technics. “We look forward to continuing our support through dependable maintenance services and customer-focused solutions that respond to the airline’s operational requirements.”

Mukhtaris Aris, Director of Maintenance at Garuda Indonesia, said the engine maintenance support forms part of the airline’s broader fleet readiness and maintenance strategy.

“Fleet readiness is an important foundation of Garuda Indonesia’s operational reliability and our commitment to delivering safe and dependable services. The maintenance support provided by SR Technics for selected CFM56 engines forms part of our broader approach to maintaining a capable and resilient maintenance ecosystem, supported by qualified MRO providers and governed by applicable safety, airworthiness, quality, and regulatory requirements,” said Mukhtaris.

The CFM56 remains widely used across commercial aircraft fleets, creating continuing demand for engine inspections, repairs, performance restoration, and overhaul services. For Garuda Indonesia, external MRO capacity provides additional support for its CFM56 engine fleet while the airline manages its broader maintenance requirements.

The cooperation further expands SR Technics’ engine MRO activity with an Asia-Pacific carrier and provides Garuda Indonesia with access to established CFM56 maintenance capabilities in Zurich.
