Five-year renewal supports parts availability and day-to-day fleet maintenance
Malaysia Airlines has signed a five-year renewal of its Integrated Materials Management (IMM) services agreement with Boeing Global Services, extending a partnership aimed at supporting parts availability and materials planning for the airline’s day-to-day fleet operations.
The agreement was announced during MRO Asia-Pacific 2026 in Singapore and covers selected parts and materials used in Malaysia Airlines’ operations, including local consignment support designed to improve access to required materials and help the airline respond more efficiently to maintenance requirements.
Under the renewed IMM agreement, Boeing will support the management of selected inventory and materials for Malaysia Airlines, with a focus on ensuring required parts are available when needed.
The programme includes access to critical expendables and consumables, which are essential to routine maintenance activity and day-to-day fleet operations.
Local consignment support is intended to place required materials closer to the airline’s operational needs, helping maintenance teams respond more quickly when parts are required and providing greater flexibility in maintenance planning.
“Boeing’s IMM services play an important role in supporting our fleet operations. Consistent access to parts and materials helps us maintain operational reliability and efficiency while supporting our commitment to safety and service delivery,” said Aida Salfaraz Ahmad Fadzil, Chief Operating Officer of Malaysia Airlines.
Materials availability remains an important component of airline MRO planning, particularly for routine maintenance activity where delays in sourcing relatively common parts and consumables can affect aircraft availability. Through IMM, Boeing combines materials-management support with its parts distribution network to help Malaysia Airlines streamline inventory processes and improve materials readiness.
The approach also allows the airline to place greater focus on its core maintenance and fleet operations while Boeing manages selected aspects of inventory and materials support.

“Boeing’s IMM program helps airlines improve materials readiness by ensuring the right part is available at the right place at the right time,” said William Ampofo, Senior Vice President, Parts & Distribution and Supply Chain, Boeing Global Services. “The result is a more efficient operation and stronger support for fleet performance.”
The renewal reinforces the role of integrated materials management in supporting airline maintenance operations, particularly as carriers seek to improve parts availability while making their supply chains more responsive.
