Lufthansa Technik appoints new Managing Directors in Puerto Rico and Budapest

Lufthansa Technik has completed leadership changes at two facilities within its global base maintenance network, appointing Blanca Burgos as Managing Director of Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico and Johannes Rotter as Managing Director of Lufthansa Technik Budapest.

Burgos has served as Managing Director of Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico since September, overseeing the company’s operations in Aguadilla. She joined Lufthansa Technik from FEAM Aero, where she was Director of Account Management, and brings more than 30 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and MRO operations.

Her previous career includes technical and leadership roles at Delta Air Lines and FEAM Aero. Burgos succeeds Joerg Speri, who has moved to Austrian Airlines as Vice President of the Technical Division.

Rotter took over as Managing Director of Lufthansa Technik Budapest in August. He joins the role after more than two decades with Austrian Airlines, where he most recently served as Head of Maintenance.

During his career, Rotter has led operational excellence and digitalisation initiatives and developed expertise across aircraft maintenance, engineering and international project management. He succeeds Thoralf Wagner, who has moved to SWISS as Head of Technical Fleet Management.

Marcus Motschenbacher, Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, Aircraft Maintenance Services at Lufthansa Technik, said Burgos will focus on strengthening the company’s presence across the Americas, expanding FAA capabilities and responding to changing customer requirements.

In Budapest, Rotter will focus on building on the facility’s existing operations, improving performance and maintaining Lufthansa Technik’s quality and customer service standards.
