Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)’s B777-300ERSF passenger-to-freighter (P2F) fleet has surpassed 20,000 cumulative flight hours, marking a major milestone for the world’s first and only Boeing 777-300ER conversion programme.
The achievement comes less than a year after the first converted aircraft entered commercial service in September 2025, highlighting the programme’s rapid transition from certification to full-scale commercial operations and reinforcing the growing market acceptance of widebody freighter conversions.
To date, 11 Boeing 777-300ERSF aircraft have been converted by IAI and are currently in service with cargo operators across Europe, North America and Asia. The fleet has averaged more than 350 flight hours per aircraft per month, reflecting high aircraft utilisation and strong operational reliability in long-haul international cargo operations.
The programme received the world’s first Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Boeing 777-300ER passenger-to-freighter conversion and continues to expand. IAI confirmed that five additional aircraft are currently undergoing conversion, while several more are scheduled to enter the production line in the coming months as customer demand continues to grow.
To support the increasing order pipeline, the company is also expanding its global conversion network by adding new conversion facilities and increasing production capacity, enabling faster delivery schedules and broader customer support.
Alongside the Boeing 777-300ERSF programme, IAI is advancing its Airbus A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter conversion programme, further strengthening its portfolio of widebody cargo aircraft solutions as airlines and cargo operators continue to invest in fleet modernisation.
Boaz Levy, Chairman of Israel Aerospace Industries, said the latest milestone reflects growing customer confidence in both the aircraft and the conversion programme.
“This milestone reflects the confidence our customers place in IAI and in the Boeing 777-300ERSF programme. It demonstrates not only our engineering excellence but also the aircraft’s proven operational reliability in commercial service around the world. As demand for advanced cargo aircraft continues to grow, we remain committed to delivering innovative, high-performance solutions that shape the future of global air cargo,” Levy said.
Yaacov Berkovitz, Executive Vice President and General Manager of IAI Aviation, said the programme has successfully transitioned from certification to commercial maturity.
“Surpassing 20,000 flight hours in less than a year is another important milestone for the Boeing 777-300ERSF programme. With 11 converted aircraft already operating across multiple continents and five more currently undergoing conversion, the continued expansion of our global conversion network reflects the increasing confidence customers place in IAI and the future of the Boeing 777-300ERSF,” Berkovitz said.

The milestone also highlights the growing importance of the passenger-to-freighter conversion market as airlines seek to extend the operational life of widebody aircraft while meeting rising global cargo demand. For the MRO sector, the expansion of large-scale conversion programmes is creating new opportunities across heavy maintenance, structural modifications, engineering services, certification support and long-term lifecycle maintenance.
With more than four decades of experience in aircraft conversions and hundreds of freighters delivered worldwide, IAI continues to strengthen its position in the global P2F market, supporting the evolving requirements of cargo operators through advanced engineering capabilities and an expanding international conversion network.
