HAECO has signed a new landing gear overhaul agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA), covering the carrier’s Boeing 777-300ER and 777F fleets through 2030. The work will be carried out at HAECO Landing Gear Services’ dedicated facility in Xiamen, China.
The agreement expands the scope of HAECO’s long-running maintenance relationship with ANA into landing gear MRO. The companies began working together in 1997, with their cooperation subsequently expanding to include airframe services, including base and line maintenance support in Hong Kong and mainland China.
George Edmunds, Group Director Components and Engine Services at HAECO, said the agreement adds landing gear overhaul to the services provided to ANA. “This agreement marks an important milestone in our partnership with ANA, as we expand our support to include landing gear overhaul services. ANA is highly regarded for its uncompromising standards of safety and operational excellence, and we are proud to be entrusted with this critical element of fleet support for our partner. We look forward to building on our successful collaboration in the years ahead”, highlighted Edmunds.
In June 2025, ANA recorded its 500th aircraft input at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, another milestone in the two companies’ maintenance relationship.
Tsuyoshi Yazaki, Vice President of Supply-Chain Operations of ANA, said the carrier will use HAECO’s landing gear capabilities as part of its Boeing 777 fleet support. “HAECO has been a trusted airframe services partner to ANA for many years, consistently demonstrating strong technical capabilities and a commitment to service excellence. As we continue to optimise the performance and reliability of our Boeing 777 fleet in the region, we are pleased to extend our partnership with HAECO and rely on their proven capabilities in landing gear overhaul services”, stated Yazaki.
Xiamen facility expands landing gear MRO support
HAECO Landing Gear Services operates a dedicated 10,000-square-metre facility in Xiamen for landing gear overhaul. The site is equipped with tooling designed to handle landing gear from large widebody aircraft.
The facility supports landing gear MRO for Boeing 747, 767, 777, and 787 aircraft, as well as Airbus and Liebherr platforms. Its capabilities cover the inspection, overhaul, and repair of landing gear assemblies and associated components.
The Xiamen operation holds approvals from major aviation authorities and supports more than 30 customers across 15 countries and regions. Its widebody capability makes it suitable for the Boeing 777 landing gear work included in the new ANA agreement.

Supporting Boeing 777 fleet lifecycle requirements
Landing gear overhaul is an important part of widebody aircraft lifecycle maintenance. Landing gear assemblies and associated components are exposed to repeated take-off and landing cycles and require scheduled inspection, repair and overhaul to maintain airworthiness.
For ANA, the agreement provides dedicated overhaul capacity for landing gear installed on its Boeing 777-300ER and 777F aircraft. Using an established specialist facility also allows the airline to separate landing gear shop visits from other aircraft maintenance activities while maintaining a planned component support programme.
The new agreement adds another component-level MRO capability to the existing HAECO-ANA relationship and extends the scope of support available for the carrier’s 777 fleet.

Long-term HAECO-ANA maintenance relationship
The landing gear agreement builds on almost three decades of cooperation between HAECO and ANA. Their relationship began in 1997 and has since covered multiple areas of aircraft maintenance and engineering support.
The addition of landing gear overhaul further broadens the partnership from airframe maintenance into specialist component MRO. Through 2030, HAECO’s Xiamen facility will provide a dedicated landing gear overhaul capability for ANA’s Boeing 777-300ER and 777F fleets.
The agreement also adds to HAECO Landing Gear Services’ existing regional widebody MRO workload and reinforces Xiamen’s role as a specialist landing gear overhaul location for commercial aircraft operators.
