DHL Express, Singapore Airlines Extend Boeing 777 Freighter Partnership

DHL Express and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have renewed their crew and maintenance agreement covering five Boeing 777 freighters based at Singapore Changi Airport.

Under the renewed agreement, SIA pilots will continue to operate the five aircraft, while SIA engineers will remain responsible for their maintenance. The freighters support DHL’s intercontinental air network, linking its South Asia Hub in Singapore with key destinations across the United States.

The five Boeing 777 freighters entered service progressively from 2022 and provide additional capacity for time-sensitive international shipments. Each aircraft can carry up to 102 tonnes of cargo, making the type a key asset for DHL’s long-haul express operations.

The partnership between DHL Express and SIA has supported express air freight movements between the Asia-Pacific region and global markets via Singapore since 2022. The renewed agreement will continue to combine SIA’s flight and maintenance capabilities with DHL’s international logistics network.

Singapore’s position as a major air cargo hub also remains central to the partnership. With the five dual-liveried Boeing 777 freighters based at Changi, DHL can maintain dedicated long-haul cargo capacity connecting Asian markets with the United States.

The agreement extends the companies’ existing collaboration as demand for reliable cross-border air freight capacity continues to support international trade and e-commerce. It also reinforces Changi’s role as an important hub for DHL’s intercontinental cargo operations.
