Bombardier opens Sydney line maintenance station for business jets

Bombardier has opened a new Line Maintenance Station (LMS) in Sydney, Australia, expanding its regional support network with AOG response, unscheduled maintenance and inspection capabilities for Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft.

The Sydney station strengthens Bombardier’s maintenance coverage across Asia-Pacific, complementing its existing Line Maintenance Station in Perth and service centre in Melbourne. The addition brings the company’s worldwide LMS network to 11 locations.

The new facility is equipped to support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events, unscheduled line maintenance and selected scheduled maintenance activities, including inspections. Technicians are certified to service Bombardier’s Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft families, providing operators with access to technical support across its business jet portfolio.

Mobile response expands AOG support

The Sydney station includes a dedicated Mobile Response Team (MRT) truck, enabling technicians to respond to customer requirements beyond the station itself. This capability is particularly relevant during AOG events, when rapid troubleshooting and maintenance intervention can help operators address technical issues and minimise aircraft downtime.

Line maintenance stations provide a local point of access for inspections, fault diagnosis and selected maintenance tasks without requiring every aircraft issue to be handled at a major service centre. For business jet operators across Australia and the wider region, the Sydney location adds another option for obtaining maintenance assistance closer to their operating base.

Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Aftermarket Services, said the expansion reflects the company’s continued investment in customer support across the region.

“Being number one in customer support is something we’re proud of, but staying number one means never standing still,” said Sislian. “It means continuing to earn our customers’ trust by being present, responsive and ready to support them wherever they operate. Our new Sydney Line Maintenance Station delivers on that promise, bringing Bombardier expertise even closer to our customers while advancing our continued investment in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific region.”

Asia-Pacific service network continues to expand

The Sydney opening forms part of Bombardier’s wider investment in regional aftermarket infrastructure. Earlier in 2026, the company announced an expansion of its Singapore Service Centre, which is expected to nearly double in size when the project is completed in the second half of 2028.

The planned Singapore facility will offer scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modifications, avionics installations and round-the-clock AOG support. A new Component Repair and Overhaul (CR&O) workshop is also planned, adding component-level maintenance capability to the regional network.

Together, the Sydney and Singapore developments represent different elements of Bombardier’s support strategy: local line maintenance and mobile response on one hand, and broader maintenance and component repair capabilities at a regional service centre on the other.

For business jet operators, access to geographically distributed maintenance support can help simplify maintenance planning and provide additional options when technical issues arise away from an aircraft’s home base. Bombardier’s latest investment adds capacity to its Australian support network while contributing to the continued development of its Asia-Pacific aftermarket presence.
