New 35,000-sq-metre facility brings aircraft finishing, technical adjustments and customer delivery activities together
Airbus has inaugurated a new delivery centre at its Jean-Luc Lagardère site in north-west Toulouse, France, as it prepares to support the continued ramp-up of the A320 Family.
The new facility is designed to streamline the final stages before aircraft are handed over to customers by bringing production-related flows, technical adjustments, finishing activities and customer delivery operations together at a single location.
Covering more than 35,000 square metres, the project involved more than 700 people and 50 partner companies. The new delivery centre includes 16 aircraft positions located close to the A320 Family final assembly line, alongside a dedicated hall for technical adjustments and finishing work on single-aisle aircraft.
Streamlining aircraft delivery and technical work
By consolidating activities within the new complex, Airbus aims to optimise aircraft flows between final assembly and delivery while improving the efficiency of technical adjustments and finishing activities.
The facility also includes a dedicated customer reception area and a customs clearance zone for international customers. Customer workspaces have been positioned to provide direct views of their aircraft, enabling closer interaction during the final stages of the delivery process.
For the aircraft maintenance and MRO ecosystem, the facility highlights the increasing importance of efficient technical completion and delivery processes as manufacturers scale narrowbody production. Bringing adjustment, finishing and delivery functions into a more integrated environment can help streamline the transition from final assembly to customer handover.
Infrastructure built around long-term production
The new centre has also been designed to make use of existing site infrastructure while addressing the site’s environmental and logistical requirements.
Airbus said the building’s utilities have been installed above ground on a specially designed bridge, allowing the project to avoid disrupting the site’s natural groundwater resources.
The company sees the new infrastructure as an important element in supporting its longer-term production objectives for the A320 Family.

Supporting higher A320 family rates
Airbus is targeting an A320 Family production rate of between 70 and 75 aircraft per month by the end of 2027, with the company planning to stabilise at a rate of 75 aircraft per month thereafter.
The scale of the programme reflects the continuing demand for the A320 Family. As of the end of August 2026, Airbus reported an A320 Family backlog of 7,577 aircraft, including 5,691 A321neo aircraft.
The new Toulouse delivery centre therefore forms part of the broader industrial infrastructure being developed to support higher aircraft production and an increasingly demanding delivery pipeline.
