Aequs, Safran sign long-term supply agreements for Airbus A320, A330, A350 and Boeing 787 Programmes

The agreements expand a partnership spanning more than a decade and extend collaboration across Safran’s aerospace businesses, with significant manufacturing work planned at Aequs’ upcoming engine components facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

Aequs has signed multiple long-term supply agreements with Safran entities, strengthening a partnership that has evolved over more than a decade and expanding its participation across the global aerospace supply chain.

The new agreements build on Aequs’ established relationship with Safran Landing Systems while extending collaboration to Safran Aerosystems and Safran Electronics & Defense. With these additions, Aequs now has business relationships with six Safran entities.

The contracts cover a range of aerospace manufacturing activities, including superalloy machining, the production of complex machined components, and the machining, coating and assembly of landing gear components. These components will support the Airbus A320, A330 and A350 families, as well as the Boeing 787 programme.

Hosur Facility to expand manufacturing capabilities

A significant portion of the work under the new agreements is expected to be undertaken at Aequs’ upcoming Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The facility is expected to expand the company’s manufacturing capabilities and strengthen its participation in global aerospace supply chains from India.

The latest awards build on Aequs’ integrated aerospace manufacturing operations in Belagavi, Karnataka, where the company has developed capabilities across precision machining and complex component manufacturing. The expansion into Hosur will further broaden this manufacturing base.

The agreements also mark another step in Aequs’ efforts to deepen its engagement with Safran across multiple aerospace businesses and aircraft programmes, expanding the scope of work beyond its established landing gear-related activities.

Builds on long-term landing systems partnership

The latest agreements follow a July 2026 agreement between Aequs and Safran Landing Systems for the manufacture of fully assembled wheels for the Airbus A320 family in India. The arrangement is intended to support production through 2042, with the wheels to be manufactured and assembled entirely in India.

Together, the agreements reflect the continued expansion of the two companies’ industrial partnership, with a focus on long-term supply commitments and manufacturing capabilities in India.

Commenting on the latest awards, Aravind Melligeri, Executive Chairman and CEO of Aequs, said, “These awards demonstrate the strength of the capabilities developed across our manufacturing ecosystems and the growing depth of aerospace manufacturing available in India.”
