FLYONE Armenia orders two A321neo aircraft with LEAP engines

FLYONE Armenia has finalised an order for two Airbus A321neo aircraft powered by CFM International LEAP engines, expanding its fleet modernisation programme and introducing the larger A321neo to its operation.

The two aircraft represent FLYONE Armenia’s first direct order from Airbus and will be configured with 239 all-economy seats. The airline currently operates 11 A320 Family aircraft, making the A321neo a further step in the expansion of its Airbus narrowbody fleet.

The aircraft order was initially announced as a Memorandum of Understanding during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Yerevan in May 2026.

Expanding A320 Family maintenance requirements

The addition of two A321neo aircraft will expand FLYONE Armenia’s maintenance requirements as the airline introduces a new variant and LEAP-powered aircraft into its fleet. The commonality with its existing A320 Family fleet can support continuity in areas such as technical training, tooling, maintenance procedures and spare-parts planning, while the A321neo introduces its own configuration and component requirements.

The LEAP-1A engines will also add to the airline’s existing engine-support requirements as it builds experience with the powerplant. CFM’s global LEAP support network provides access to engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities as the fleet accumulates flight hours.

For FLYONE Armenia, the fleet expansion will require corresponding planning for scheduled maintenance, components, consumables, technical records, and engine support. The introduction of additional A320neo Family aircraft also provides a broader base for standardising maintenance processes across its Airbus fleet.

The two A321neo aircraft are intended to support FLYONE Armenia’s wider fleet modernisation and route network expansion strategy, while increasing its reliance on newer-generation aircraft and associated maintenance infrastructure.
