Vietnamese carrier Sun PhuQuoc Airways is set to expand its widebody fleet with eight Airbus A330 aircraft by April 2027, supporting its plans to enter medium- and long-haul international markets from Phu Quoc.
The airline plans to receive four A330s during 2026, with the first two aircraft expected to join the fleet in September. These aircraft will initially support services to South Korea, while also enabling planned expansion into Russia and Kazakhstan.
A third A330 is scheduled for delivery in October, followed by a fourth in December. The remaining four aircraft are expected to arrive progressively during the first four months of 2027.
The additional widebody capacity will support Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ planned services to Japan and Australia, as well as potential future routes to the Czech Republic and Poland.
The A330s represent the first phase of the airline’s broader long-haul fleet expansion strategy. From 2031, Sun PhuQuoc Airways expects to begin taking delivery of 40 owned Boeing 787-9 aircraft, providing additional capacity for its planned intercontinental network growth.
