West Star Aviation appoints Jason Taylor as Chief Information Officer to drive digital transformation

West Star Aviation has appointed Jason Taylor as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), reinforcing the company’s commitment to digital transformation, enterprise technology and data-driven operations as it continues expanding its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities.

In his new role, Taylor will lead the company’s enterprise technology strategy, overseeing information systems, data analytics, digital innovation and cybersecurity initiatives. He will also be responsible for aligning technology investments with operational objectives to improve maintenance efficiency, accelerate project delivery and enhance the overall customer experience.

The appointment comes as MRO providers increasingly invest in digital technologies, automation and connected platforms to improve aircraft turnaround times, optimise resource planning and strengthen operational resilience.

Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Maiden, Chief Executive Officer of West Star Aviation, said technology has become a key enabler of modern aviation maintenance operations. “Information and technology sit at the heart of aviation today. We intend to lead the industry in leveraging technology to drive efficiency, improve turn times and elevate the customer experience. With a nationwide footprint and thousands of aircraft touchpoints each year, Jason‘s expertise will further strengthen our technology foundation while ensuring our teams and customers have access to secure, reliable and actionable information,” Maiden said.

Taylor brings extensive experience in enterprise technology leadership, having previously served as Chief Information Officer and Global Chief Technology Officer at RS Americas and Vice President of Global Digital and Innovation at Gates Corporation. Earlier leadership roles at Mohawk Industries and Eaton further strengthened his expertise in digital transformation, enterprise systems and technology integration.

Throughout his career, Taylor has led large-scale digital modernisation programmes, including enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA implementations, consolidation of more than 1,000 business applications into integrated technology platforms, and deployment of artificial intelligence and automation tools to improve operational efficiency while reducing delivery times and costs.

He has also developed enterprise data platforms supported by strong governance frameworks, enabling organisations to make faster, data-driven decisions. In addition, Taylor has established cybersecurity programmes aligned with internationally recognised standards, including NIST and ISO 27001, helping organisations strengthen cyber resilience while safeguarding critical operational data.

At West Star Aviation, Taylor will focus on expanding digital capabilities across the organisation, improving system reliability, enhancing data accessibility and strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure to support future growth.

From an MRO perspective, the appointment reflects the aviation maintenance industry’s continued shift towards digital maintenance ecosystems, where data analytics, predictive maintenance, cloud-based enterprise systems and artificial intelligence are becoming central to improving aircraft availability, maintenance planning and customer service. As aircraft fleets become increasingly connected, investments in secure digital infrastructure and integrated technology platforms are expected to play a growing role in enhancing operational efficiency and long-term competitiveness.

With Taylor’s appointment, West Star Aviation aims to further modernise its technology landscape while building scalable digital capabilities that support both its workforce and customers across an evolving global aviation maintenance market.
