Boeing and Turkish Airlines have finalized an order for up to 150 737 MAX aircraft, supporting the airline’s fleet expansion and renewal plans.
The agreement covers 100 Boeing 737-8 aircraft and options for a further 50 737 MAX jets. It also includes substitution rights for the 737-10.
Turkish Airlines, including AJet, currently operates more than 200 Boeing aircraft across its fleet, including the 737 MAX, 787 Dreamliner, 777, 737 Next-Generation and 777 Freighter.
The additional 737-8 aircraft will expand an aircraft family already operated by the airline, providing fleet commonality across its single-aisle operations. This will also allow Turkish Airlines to build on existing infrastructure, maintenance capabilities and technical resources supporting its 737 MAX fleet.
“This agreement marks another significant step in the continued expansion of our fleet. The new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will bring greater efficiency and flexibility to our operations, supporting the extensive network we serve from our hub in Istanbul,” said Prof. Dr. Murat Şeker, Turkish Airlines chairman of the board and the executive committee. “We are pleased to build on our longstanding cooperation with Boeing through an agreement that also supports Türkiye’s aviation ecosystem.”
The 737-8 is intended for domestic and international routes, while the substitution option for the larger 737-10 provides additional capacity flexibility as the fleet develops.

The order follows Turkish Airlines’ 2025 agreement for up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and forms part of the airline’s wider fleet modernization programme.
For the aftermarket sector, the planned fleet expansion will increase future requirements for 737 MAX engine and component support, maintenance capacity, spare parts and technical services as the aircraft enter service.
