Safran Landing Systems Partners with Titan Engineering & Automation to strengthen aerospace supply chain in India

Safran Landing Systems has signed an industrial contract with Titan Engineering & Automation Limited (TEAL), marking another step in expanding its global supply chain footprint while deepening its engagement with India’s growing aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.

The agreement covers the machining, coating, and assembly of complex, large-scale components used in landing systems. These components will be manufactured using advanced materials such as aluminium, titanium, and high-strength steel, materials that are critical to ensuring structural integrity and performance in modern aircraft landing gear systems.

This partnership reflects Safran’s broader strategy to diversify and strengthen its supplier base by collaborating with high-performing and technologically capable partners. India, with its expanding aerospace manufacturing capabilities and skilled workforce, continues to emerge as a key destination for such strategic collaborations.

Titan Engineering & Automation Limited brings strong expertise in high-precision manufacturing and advanced engineering processes. Its capabilities in handling complex components and materials position it as a reliable partner for global OEMs looking to enhance supply chain resilience and efficiency.

From an MRO perspective, the development is particularly significant. Landing systems are among the most critical and maintenance-intensive components of an aircraft, requiring high levels of precision in both manufacturing and lifecycle support. Strengthening the supply chain for such components can contribute to improved turnaround times, better availability of spares, and enhanced reliability across the maintenance ecosystem.

The inclusion of processes such as coating and assembly within the scope of the contract also indicates a move towards higher value-added manufacturing within India. This aligns with the country’s broader ambition to transition from a cost-driven manufacturing base to a capability-driven aerospace hub.

Safran has been actively increasing its industrial presence in India across multiple domains, including propulsion, avionics, and landing systems. This latest partnership further reinforces its long-term commitment to the region and its intent to integrate Indian suppliers into global aerospace programmes.

The first delivery of components under this contract is scheduled for 2028, indicating a long-term engagement that will likely involve capability development, process alignment, and quality assurance mechanisms over the coming years.

As global aerospace supply chains continue to face challenges related to capacity constraints, geopolitical uncertainties, and demand fluctuations, partnerships such as this highlight the importance of building resilient, geographically diversified supplier networks.

For India, the collaboration represents another milestone in its journey towards becoming a key node in the global aerospace manufacturing and MRO value chain, supporting not just production but also long-term maintenance and lifecycle management capabilities.
