NOEMI Aerospace has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Indian seaplane operator SkyHop Aviation for the potential introduction of up to 15 NOEMI amphibious aircraft in India.
Under the agreement, SkyHop plans to introduce up to 10 NOEMI aircraft by FY2030 through a combination of purchases, leases or both. The agreement also includes options for five additional aircraft.
The proposed deal remains subject to operational and commercial assessments, regulatory approvals and the execution of definitive agreements. The two companies will evaluate the technical, operational, commercial and regulatory requirements for integrating the aircraft into SkyHop’s future fleet.
Beyond the aircraft agreement, NOEMI and SkyHop will explore a broader strategic partnership that could include the future manufacturing and assembly of electric and hybrid NOEMI aircraft in India.
SkyHop is developing a dedicated seaplane network in India, with its initial focus on connecting the Lakshadweep islands and with the mainland. The company aims to build a fleet of up to 40 aircraft by FY2030.

The partnership comes as India looks to expand amphibious aviation through the UDAN regional connectivity programme, which includes plans for around 150 new seaplane routes.
For NOEMI Aerospace, the agreement strengthens its presence in the Indian market and takes its announced global commercial pipeline to more than 90 aircraft across Europe, North America and Asia.
NOEMI is developing a nine-passenger amphibious aircraft designed to operate from both water and conventional runways. The initial version is being developed with fully electric propulsion, while the platform is also designed to support hybrid-electric and conventional propulsion options.
The aircraft is currently targeted to enter service in 2030, with the SkyHop agreement potentially positioning NOEMI’s amphibious platform for a role in India’s emerging seaplane network.
