Liebherr-Aerospace has been selected by China Airlines to provide an exchange and overhaul programme for the nose landing gear systems installed on the airline’s fleet of 18 Airbus A350 aircraft.
Under the agreement, Liebherr-Aerospace will provide asset exchange services designed to support China Airlines’ maintenance planning and help maintain aircraft availability. The programme will enable the airline to access overhauled landing gear assets while its existing units undergo maintenance.
The agreement also marks China Airlines as Liebherr-Aerospace’s launch customer in Asia for its A350 nose landing gear overhaul programme.
Joël Cadaux, General Manager Aerospace at Liebherr-Singapore Pte Ltd, said the agreement strengthens the companies’ long-term partnership and supports China Airlines’ fleet availability requirements. He added that the landing gear exchange solution is intended to support operational reliability and safety while simplifying maintenance planning.

The A350 nose landing gear system was developed, manufactured and certified by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH. The company serves as Liebherr’s centre of competence for flight control systems, landing gear systems, gears, gearboxes and electronics.
The programme expands Liebherr-Aerospace’s aftermarket support for the A350 platform in the Asia-Pacific region and provides China Airlines with dedicated landing gear exchange and overhaul capabilities for its widebody fleet.
