Joby Aviation has established a new operational hub at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport in Texas, leasing 45,000 square feet of space to support its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft programme and future commercial operations.
The new facility, located within Hillwood’s Alliance Air Trade Centre in Haslet, is part of the 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development and marks the first significant presence of an eVTOL aircraft manufacturer in North Texas.
The site will serve as Joby’s regional base as the company prepares to begin flights under the Federal Aviation Administration’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP) across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Greg Bowles, Chief Policy Officer at Joby Aviation, said the expansion reflects the company’s confidence in Texas as a key market for advanced air mobility.
“I first visited Perot Field two decades ago, and it was clear even back then that this airport would grow into a cornerstone of aviation for the region,” Bowles said. “Establishing a presence in Texas puts Joby in one of the most exciting markets in the country. This site gives us a base to demonstrate the value of air mobility services across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and the state.”
He added that the company looks forward to working with regional partners, including Hillwood, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), as it advances its eIPP flight programme.
The facility provides Joby with access to AllianceTexas’ multimodal transportation infrastructure, aviation ecosystem and skilled workforce, while supporting the company’s efforts to scale advanced air mobility operations.
Samuel Rhea, Vice President at Hillwood, said the development reinforces AllianceTexas’ position as a hub for aviation and emerging mobility technologies.
“Welcoming Joby to AllianceTexas reflects our ability to pair flexible real estate solutions with the resources forward-looking companies need to grow. Joby brings an important new capability and demonstrates how AllianceTexas continues to evolve to support aviation, manufacturing and the advanced air mobility sector,” Rhea said.

Perot Field, recognised as the world’s first industrial airport purpose-built for cargo and corporate aviation, is also home to the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone, a public-private ecosystem focused on advancing next-generation transportation technologies.
Christopher Ash, President of Alliance Aviation Companies, said Joby’s arrival marks an important milestone for the region’s aviation sector.
“By locating within the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone, Joby helps validate the collaborative work happening here and advances the integration of eVTOL technology across the region’s transportation network,” he said.
