Japan Airlines has extended its Embraer Pool Program agreement for component maintenance and spare-parts support covering 32 E170 and E190 aircraft operated by J-Air.
The multi-year agreement covers a range of repairable components, with inventory positioned close to JAL’s operations to provide faster access to replacement parts and reduce aircraft downtime.
Embraer’s Pool Program provides component availability and repair support for the E-Jet fleet, supporting maintenance operations and aircraft reliability. JAL’s E-Jets have recorded an average six-month service reliability rate of 99.8%.
“Through this contract renewal with Embraer, we reinforce our commitment to securing high-quality components and, above all, ensuring the absolute safety of our flight operations. Building on our trusted relationship with Embraer, we look forward to driving further operational excellence and delivering a highly reliable travel experience for our passengers,” said Yuta Kawaguchi, Executive Officer, Vice President, JAL Engineering Co. Ltd., Material & Component Services.
The E170 and E190 have been part of J-Air’s fleet since 2008, supporting regional services across Japan.

“We are proud to further strengthen our long-standing relationship with Japan Airlines through this agreement,” said Carlos Naufel, President and CEO, Embraer Services & Support. “Through our Pool Program, we are committed to providing the reliability, responsiveness and operational support needed to maximise the E-Jets’ performance.”
