Honeywell signs three-year APU maintenance agreement with Garuda Indonesia

Honeywell Aerospace has signed a three-year agreement with Garuda Indonesia to provide repair and maintenance services for the airline’s Honeywell 131-9B, 331-350, and 331-500 auxiliary power units (APUs).

The agreement provides a multi-year framework for APU repair support and is intended to give Garuda Indonesia greater predictability in maintenance costs and service planning.

“Consistent, predictable maintenance support is critical in helping airlines plan maintenance effectively and keep their fleets operating reliably,” said Eric Ai, President, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Aerospace. “This agreement enables Honeywell Aerospace to provide that support to Garuda Indonesia through a clear multi-year framework and represents an important next step in our longstanding relationship focused on supporting the airline’s operational needs.”

The APUs provide electrical power and conditioned air when aircraft are on the ground, supporting aircraft systems and cabin operations during activities such as boarding and turnaround.

Honeywell provides repair, overhaul, and upgrade services for its APU products through its aftermarket support network. The company said its repair and overhaul network includes 26 facilities globally, alongside more than 100 commercial air transport channel partner locations.

Mukhtaris Aris, director of maintenance at Garuda Indonesia, said, “As we continue our transformation journey, we remain focused on strengthening our operational capabilities, including optimizing APU reliability as a part of our effort in maintaining aircraft readiness. Through the strategic partnership with Honeywell Aerospace, we are aiming to deliver a seamless journey for our passengers through operational excellence by ensuring our aircraft readiness and operational reliability.”

The agreement extends Honeywell’s APU aftermarket support for Garuda Indonesia and provides a defined maintenance framework for the airline’s APU fleet over the three-year term.
