Duncan Aviation has added a Global nose landing gear (NLG) to its rental inventory, giving operators a temporary replacement option while their own landing gear undergoes inspection, repair, or restoration.
The rental NLG, part number 22175-109, supports several Bombardier Global models, including the Global 5000, 5000 GVFD, 5500, 6000, 6500, Express and Express XRS.
The solution is aimed at reducing AOG downtime when a landing gear issue requires removal of the aircraft’s NLG. Conditions such as an over-toe event, hard landing, excessive steering play, or other maintenance discrepancies can require the assembly to be removed before the aircraft can return to normal operation.
Duncan Aviation’s Airframe Rapid Response Teams can also support landing gear removal and replacement, allowing the rental unit to be installed while the operator’s own NLG is sent for maintenance.
Rental gear separates aircraft recovery from landing gear MRO
The rental model allows operators to return an aircraft to service without waiting for the complete overhaul or restoration of its original landing gear. Once the customer’s NLG reaches Duncan Aviation, technicians carry out a teardown and detailed inspection to determine its condition and establish the required maintenance scope.
“Having a rental gear available gives customers another option when their aircraft needs landing gear maintenance,” said Sasha Orth, Duncan Aviation Landing Gear Sales Representative. “They can continue flying while our team focuses on returning their gear to service.”
The approach provides a practical link between AOG recovery and component MRO. Instead of keeping the aircraft grounded while the original landing gear is being repaired, the replacement assembly acts as a temporary serviceable asset while technicians work on the removed component.
Duncan Aviation carries out much of the landing gear work in-house, including inspections, machining, painting, and parts support. Technicians can completely disassemble assemblies, inspect components, reseal and repaint parts, and examine associated wiring as required.
The company also repairs and restores components where possible, helping operators avoid unnecessary replacement costs. Detailed life-limit records and not-to-exceed pricing provide additional visibility during the repair process.
For operators, the combination of rental inventory, rapid-response support and in-house landing gear capability creates a more flexible approach to managing unexpected maintenance events. It also demonstrates how component availability can be as important as repair capacity when minimising AOG downtime.

Duncan Aviation backs repaired or restored items with a warranty of three years or 1,000 cycles for workmanship and two years or 1,000 cycles for materials.
The addition of the Global NLG expands Duncan Aviation’s rental offering while providing Global operators with another option for maintaining aircraft availability during landing gear maintenance.
