Diamond Aircraft has expanded its DA62 MPP SurveyStar customer base in Europe, with the delivery of the first aircraft to Slovenian aerial survey operator Flycom Technologies and a separate contract signed with Slovak geospatial services provider PHOTOMAP at INTERGEO 2026.
The two developments add to the aircraft manufacturer’s special mission business, with both operators acquiring the DA62 MPP SurveyStar for aerial surveying, mapping and geospatial data acquisition missions.
Flycom Technologies has taken delivery of its first DA62 MPP SurveyStar after operating two DA42 MPP GeoStar aircraft. The new aircraft will support the company’s expanding survey and special mission operations, providing additional payload capacity, endurance and mission flexibility.
Diamond Aircraft signed the PHOTOMAP contract during INTERGEO 2026 in Munich, with the aircraft set to be operated through PHOTOMAP’s subsidiary AERIMAP. The aircraft will be used to expand PHOTOMAP’s aerial survey, mapping, and geospatial data acquisition activities.
The DA62 MPP SurveyStar is based on Diamond Aircraft’s DA62 platform and is configured for airborne survey, mapping, observation and special mission applications. It combines increased payload capability and endurance with a dedicated mission system architecture and flexible sensor integration.
PHOTOMAP CEO Miloslav Ďurica said, “The DA62 MPP SurveyStar offers exactly the combination of performance, endurance, and economic efficiency that we were looking for. As demand for high-resolution geospatial data continues to grow, this aircraft will provide us with a highly capable platform to further enhance our service portfolio and deliver even greater value to our customers. We look forward to a successful partnership with Diamond Aircraft.”

Flycom CEO Filip Rojs said, “The decision to invest in the DA62 MPP SurveyStar was a natural evolution for our business. Our experience with the two DA42 MPP GeoStars has been very good. The aircraft have proven themselves to be reliable, efficient, and highly capable survey platforms, which is precisely what our operations demand. As mission requirements continue to grow, the DA62 MPP SurveyStar provides the additional capacity and operational flexibility we need to support our customers and further expand our capabilities.”
The DA62 MPP SurveyStar provides sensor integration flexibility for different mission configurations, while the underlying DA62 platform is designed around fuel efficiency and relatively low operating costs. These characteristics are relevant to operators conducting regular survey missions where aircraft utilisation and payload configuration affect mission requirements and operating costs.
Mario Spiegel, Head of Sales at Diamond Aircraft Special Mission Aircraft, said, “We are proud to see Flycom take the next step in its fleet development with the introduction of the DA62 MPP SurveyStar. Having successfully operated two DA42 MPP GeoStars for many years, Flycom knows the value and performance of our Special Mission Aircraft. The DA62 MPP SurveyStar offers greater payload capacity, longer endurance and expanded mission flexibility, enabling Flycom to take on even more demanding survey projects while benefiting from the efficiency and reliability that define the Diamond platform.”
