Dassault Falcon Service Mérignac marks 10 years, Falcon MRO

Dassault Falcon Service (DFS) Mérignac has marked its 10th anniversary since opening in 2016. The six-bay facility in France employs around 70 people and has completed 600 maintenance projects for Falcon operators.

The facility has carried out 66 C-checks on Falcon 7X and 8X aircraft. These heavy maintenance inspections prepare the aircraft for a further eight years of operation.

“Over the past decade, Mérignac has become an important part of our global support network, combining close access to Dassault engineering resources with the maintenance capabilities operators need,” said Jean Kayanakis, SVP, Worldwide Falcon Customer Service & Service Center Network. “Its continued expansion reflects both the growth of the long-range Falcon fleet and our long-term commitment to supporting customers wherever they operate.”

Expanded Falcon maintenance capabilities

DFS Mérignac initially focused on the Falcon 7X and 8X before expanding its capabilities to the Falcon 2000 EASy and 900 EASy families.

The facility has also added maintenance capability for the Falcon 6X, including 12- and 24-month inspections. Dassault plans to eventually extend the facility’s support to the Falcon 10X.

The expansion allows Mérignac to support a broader range of Falcon aircraft and inspection requirements as the fleet grows.

Structural repairs and avionics upgrades

Beyond scheduled maintenance, the facility provides structural repair capabilities, including work requiring support from Dassault engineering.

Mérignac also performs EASy IV avionics upgrades and other Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) modifications. These include installations such as Starlink in-flight connectivity.

Cabin interior retrofits and other aircraft upgrades are also available through local partners, extending the facility’s scope beyond routine inspections and maintenance.

Support for Dassault’s global service network

Mérignac also provides specialized technical support to Dassault’s worldwide network of around 60 factory-owned and authorized service centers.

Its personnel can be deployed to other locations when specialist technical knowledge or engineering assistance is required. This includes technical assistance and AOG GoTeam support at remote locations.

The facility therefore serves both as a maintenance base for Falcon operators and as a source of specialist technical support for Dassault’s wider service network.

With the Falcon 6X already added to its maintenance scope and the Falcon 10X planned for future support, Mérignac is expected to continue expanding its role within Dassault’s Falcon maintenance network.
