AMAC Aerospace accelerates heavy checks, redeliveries, and cabin integrations across Europe and Turkey

AMAC Aerospace has reported a surge of completed and ongoing maintenance projects across its facilities in Basel, Istanbul, and Bodrum. The series of announcements revealed not just volume but the breadth of AMAC’s MRO portfolio—spanning Gulfstream, Dassault, Boeing, and Airbus platforms—and highlighted the company’s growing ability to combine heavy base checks, structural inspections, cabin refurbishments, and end-of-lease transitions in tightly managed turnaround windows.

Precision and Problem-Solving on a Gulfstream G450

At its Basel headquarters, AMAC completed a full annual inspection on a Gulfstream G450, where the inspection program uncovered issues with the aircraft’s flaps and stabilizer. Rather than extending downtime, AMAC’s specialists performed the necessary defect rectifications, from component removal and inspection to re-rigging and functional testing, within the scheduled ground time. A successful post-maintenance test flight verified that the airframe was successfully put back into service. For operators, this prompt action demonstrates AMAC’s capacity to address unforeseen discoveries made during base inspections without interfering with delivery plans.

Dassault Falcon Fleet Support in Istanbul

In Istanbul, AMAC Aerospace Turkey reported the completion of multiple C-check milestones across a Falcon fleet. C-checks—among the most intensive periodic inspections—require access to structural elements, extensive NDT, and systems testing. While findings were minimal, the facility has already scheduled additional C-checks for the months ahead, including one project that will feature a full cabin refurbishment and complete exterior paint renewal. By integrating structural inspections with high-value modifications, AMAC is reducing downtime and delivering cost efficiencies for operators, reflecting a shift towards combined MRO and upgrade packages.

Record-Speed 12-Year Inspections on Boeing 737 BBJ

At Bodrum, AMAC Turkey has set a new benchmark with the completion of a 12-year inspection on a Boeing 737 BBJ in just 35 days — several days faster than industry averages for such a complex check. A 12-year inspection typically requires in-depth structural surveys, major component removals, corrosion control, and extensive systems verification. AMAC credited close supply-chain coordination and strong collaboration with its parts and records partner, GAMIT, for the accelerated turnaround. With another BBJ nearing completion, Bodrum is positioning itself as a high-efficiency hub for long-cycle inspections on VIP-configured narrow-bodies.

End-of-Lease Campaign: A320 Redeliveries

Bodrum also remains busy on the commercial side, announcing the completion of the fifth aircraft in a seven-aircraft Airbus A320 redelivery program. End-of-lease transitions demand a unique blend of technical and contractual precision—restoring cabins, performing base inspections, resolving technical defects, reconciling airworthiness documentation, and presenting the aircraft in lessor-accepted condition. AMAC’s ability to standardize processes across the campaign has enabled parallel workstreams and predictable outcomes, with the final two aircraft now in their concluding stages. This demonstrates the facility’s capability to deliver fleet-wide programs with repeatable quality control.

Asia-Pacific Aircraft Choose Basel for Heavy Checks and Upgrades

Basel also welcomed aircraft from the Asia-Pacific region, including an ACJ319 and a Gulfstream, for a combination of 12-year inspections, 72-month checks, IFE upgrades, and cabin/paint works. The ability to perform heavy structural checks alongside cabin modernization and paint illustrates AMAC’s value proposition as a one-stop shop. By sequencing cabin removal, avionics upgrades, and paint in the same slot, AMAC minimizes ferry flights and reduces total out-of-service time—a strong draw for international operators.

A Pattern of Integrated Efficiency

Across its European and Turkish facilities, AMAC is reinforcing a consistent message: MRO is no longer just about maintaining airworthiness, but about integrating inspections with upgrades, refurbishments, and compliance-driven transitions. From defect rectification on a Gulfstream G450, to record-speed inspections on a BBJ, to fleet-scale redelivery campaigns and Falcon cabin overhauls, AMAC is delivering complex, multi-faceted projects within tightly managed turnaround windows.

The latest round of projects demonstrates how AMAC is breaking new ground in business and VIP jet MRO while expanding its presence in narrow-body commercial redelivery markets by utilising supply-chain agility, cross-disciplinary teams, and coordinated planning.
