Mike Liu to lead Asia sales and marketing at Mammoth Freighters

Mike Liu to lead Mammoth Freighters as Director of Marketing and Sales – Asia, strengthening its commercial presence in China and the wider Asia-Pacific market for its Boeing 777 passenger-to-freighter conversion programmes.

Announced on 6 October 2026, Liu’s appointment brings commercial aviation and MRO experience to Mammoth, including more than 15 years with HAECO Xiamen. His responsibilities will include leading sales and marketing activities for the company’s 777 freighter conversion programmes across the region.

Most recently, Liu served as Commercial Manager for Cargo Conversion, APAC Base Maintenance and Private Jet Solutions at HAECO Xiamen. He led commercial negotiations and aircraft inductions for several major freighter conversion programmes, including Mammoth’s 777 conversions.

During his tenure at HAECO Xiamen, Liu also managed relationships with more than 20 airline and leasing-company accounts, including China Eastern, China Cargo Airlines, Air China Cargo, SF Airlines, China Postal Airlines, Sichuan Airlines and Xiamen Air. His earlier experience included commercial support for Boeing 747 and 737 freighter conversions in Asian and international markets.

For the MRO sector, Liu’s appointment connects Mammoth’s conversion business with experience in base maintenance, aircraft inductions and cargo conversion programmes. His background is relevant to the commercial coordination involved in transitioning passenger aircraft to freighter configurations, where aircraft availability, conversion capacity and operator requirements influence programme planning.

“We are very pleased to welcome Mike to the Mammoth team,” said Brian McCarthy, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Mammoth Freighters. “Mike brings a rare combination of deep commercial aviation experience, freighter conversion knowledge and long-standing relationships throughout the Chinese aviation market. He already has a strong understanding of the Mammoth 777 program through his previous work with us, which will allow him to make an immediate contribution. China is an important market for the 777 freighter, and Mike will play a key role in expanding Mammoth’s presence and developing new opportunities throughout the region.”

Liu will work with airlines, aircraft owners, lessors and other industry stakeholders to develop business opportunities for Mammoth’s 777-200LRMF and 777-300ERMF freighter conversion programmes. The appointment comes as the company seeks to expand the reach of its widebody freighter offerings in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Mammoth has developed an exciting 777 freighter program, and I am very pleased to be joining the company at this important stage of its growth,” said Mike Liu. “I look forward to working with customers throughout China, strengthening Mammoth’s relationships in the region and helping operators understand the capabilities and opportunities offered by the Mammoth 777 freighter family.”

Liu’s appointment strengthens Mammoth’s regional commercial team, drawing on his experience across MRO, cargo conversion and airline account management. While the announcement does not detail new conversion capacity or maintenance agreements, his background in aircraft inductions and base maintenance provides relevant experience as Mammoth develops its presence in the Asian freighter market.
