Textron Aviation has expanded availability of its all-Garmin avionics retrofit for the original Cessna CitationJet following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certification (STC).
The approval covers CitationJet aircraft with serial numbers 525-0001 through 0359, extending the retrofit to the earliest aircraft in the 525 series.
The upgrade replaces the existing cockpit avionics with a Garmin-based flight deck comprising the G600 TXi flight display, TXi Engine Information System (EIS), GTN 750Xi FMS/NAV/COMM and GFC 600 digital autopilot.
The retrofit also introduces functions including Stabilized Approach monitoring and aural V-speed alerts during takeoff. Optional equipment includes the GWX 8000 StormOptix weather radar and GDL 60 datalink for Garmin’s PlaneSync connected aircraft management system.
The FAA STC provides the certification basis for installation of the equipment on the affected CitationJet aircraft. The upgrade is available through Textron Aviation’s service network, which will carry out the installation and provide continued support.

The retrofit brings avionics capabilities already offered on later CitationJet variants, including the CJ1 and CJ2, to the earliest aircraft in the family.
The programme provides operators with an OEM-supported route to replace legacy cockpit equipment while extending the service life of the original CitationJet fleet.
