Mauritania Airlines prepares sale of three Embraer aircraft

Mauritania Airlines International is preparing to dispose of three Embraer aircraft as the state-owned carrier reviews its fleet and moves ahead with plans to sell two E175s and one ERJ-145LR.

The aircraft identified for sale include E175s registered as 5T-CLO and 5T-CLL, along with ERJ-145LR 5T-CLD. Mauritania Airlines, together with Mauritania’s Ministry of Equipment and Transport, has launched an international process to appoint an independent aviation consultancy to support the planned disposals.

The selected consultant will be responsible for inspecting the aircraft and reviewing their technical and airworthiness records, maintenance condition, and configurations. The assignment will also include an international assessment of market conditions for E175 and ERJ-145 aircraft.

As part of the valuation, the adviser will establish current market, base, and rapid-sale values for each aircraft, while assessing potential costs involved in preparing the aircraft for sale. The scope will also cover major components and potential dismantling or teardown opportunities where applicable.

The consultancy will identify measures to enhance the aircraft’s value before disposal and provide technical and financial recommendations to support setting reserve prices and evaluating different sale strategies.

The valuation exercise is expected to take around eight weeks after the consultant is appointed. Mauritania Airlines will act as the contracting party, while an ad hoc government commission will oversee the aircraft disposal process.
