Wendy Bowden returns as CEO to lead Nauru Airlines’ next phase of growth

Nauru Airlines has appointed Wendy Bowden as its CEO, marking her return to the airline after more than a decade in senior leadership roles and bringing over 30 years of experience across the aviation, travel and tourism sectors.

Bowden rejoined the airline in May 2026 after spending seven years with Alliance Airlines. She previously served Nauru Airlines for 12 years as CFO, where she played a key role in the carrier’s financial and operational development.

With extensive experience spanning finance, operations, strategy, commercial management and business development, Bowden will lead the airline through its next phase of growth, focusing on network expansion and strengthening regional connectivity.

As CEO, she aims to deepen collaboration between the airline’s teams in Brisbane and Nauru, expand the carrier’s Pacific network, and extend its international reach through strategic partnerships.

Bowden also emphasised the importance of investing in people, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous learning, and building strong relationships with the communities the airline serves. She said aviation plays a vital role in supporting economic growth, creating opportunities and connecting people, businesses and communities across the region.

“I am honoured to lead Nauru Airlines into its next phase of growth. It is a privilege to serve the people of Nauru,” Bowden said.

“I believe strong teamwork, a shared vision, and a commitment to excellence are the foundations of our success. Together, we can strengthen our communities, create opportunities for future generations, and make a positive and lasting impact on the people and regions we serve.”
