This move underscores the commitment of both Masdar and Boeing to harness global collaborations to meet the commercial aviation sector’s 2050 net-zero emissions target, particularly in the run-up to COP28, the United Nations climate change conference hosted by the UAE.
Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Middle East, Turkiye and Africa, Boeing said: “We are excited to team up with Masdar to spearhead the growth of the sustainable aviation fuel industry, both locally and globally, which will enable job creation, economic growth and significant business opportunities. Adopting SAF is going to be aviation’s most powerful decarbonization lever. Over a decade of collaboration between Boeing and the UAE in sustainable aviation is a testament to our shared goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.”
