VSE Corporation has acquired Atech Turbine Components, a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider specialising in hot-section components for aircraft turbine engines.
Based in Auburn, Massachusetts, Atech was founded in 1990 and provides specialised engine component repairs, primarily supporting Pratt & Whitney Canada engine platforms. Its repair approvals cover more than 300 part numbers, including proprietary repairs for flight-critical components.
Atech supports the PT6, JT15D, PW100, PW150, PW200, PW300 and PW500 engine families, along with the PW901 auxiliary power unit (APU).
The company’s approximately 40-person workforce repairs combustion liners, exhaust ducts, turbine shroud housings, structural engine components, and other hot-section parts. Its customers include operators across business and general aviation, regional commercial aviation, rotorcraft, military and special-mission sectors.
John Cuomo, President and Chief Executive Officer of VSE Corporation, said the acquisition will expand the company’s engine aftermarket capabilities. He highlighted, “This acquisition represents another important step in the expansion of VSE Aviation’s engine aftermarket capabilities. Atech brings a differentiated portfolio of proprietary repairs, highly technical capabilities and a deep relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada across some of the most important engine platforms in the aviation aftermarket.”
He added that the acquisition will expand the range of aftermarket solutions available to VSE’s OEM partners and customers.
Atech’s repair approvals will add more than 300 specialised repair capabilities to VSE Aviation’s engine aftermarket operations. VSE also plans to increase Atech’s capacity and develop additional repair capabilities.
Ben Thomas, Chief Operating Officer of VSE Corporation, said, “Atech is an exceptional strategic fit with our engine and OEM-aligned growth strategy. Its proprietary repair portfolio, technical expertise, reputation for quality, and opportunity for capacity expansion complement and enhance the capabilities we have added through Turbine Weld and NorthStar.”
Thomas added that the combined capabilities will support the installed base of PT6, PW100, JT15D and other engine platforms.
The acquisition also expands VSE’s presence in engine component MRO beyond parts distribution and accessory repair, particularly in complex hot-section component work.
Rita Kapur, President of Atech Turbine Components, said, “We are incredibly proud of what we have built. Our people, our reputation, and the trust we have earned from our customers are what defines us. This partnership with VSE Aviation allows us to build on that foundation while creating even greater opportunities for growth.”

Kapur added that the additional resources from VSE will support expansion of Atech’s specialised repair portfolio and customer support.
The acquisition gives VSE additional repair capabilities for Pratt & Whitney Canada engine platforms and provides a base for further development of engine component MRO services.
