VNH Orders Three Airbus H225 Helicopters to Boost Offshore Operations

The Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (VNH), through its subsidiaries Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH South) and Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH North), has placed an order for three Airbus H225 helicopters to support the expansion of its offshore energy operations and replace ageing aircraft in its fleet.

The order further strengthens a long-standing partnership between VNH and Airbus Helicopters, which spans more than four decades. It also aligns with VNH’s long-term strategy to modernise its fleet and enhance heavy helicopter capabilities.

Kieu Dang Hung, CEO of VNH, highlighted the aircraft’s operational track record, stating that the H225 has consistently demonstrated reliability, performance, and safety across offshore missions. He added that the helicopter is expected to form the backbone of VNH’s future fleet, enabling both modernisation and increased operational flexibility.

Matthieu Louvot, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, welcomed the continued collaboration, noting that VNH’s decision underscores the H225’s strong performance in demanding offshore environments. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting VNH’s fleet renewal and long-term growth.

The newly ordered helicopters will join VNH’s existing Airbus fleet, which includes Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma (Super Puma) and Airbus H155 models. These aircraft are deployed across a range of missions, including offshore energy transport, utility operations, search and rescue, and general transport.

As the latest member of the Super Puma family, the H225 is known for its high performance in challenging conditions, along with its extended range and payload capacity. It is equipped with advanced avionics and autopilot systems designed to enhance safety while reducing pilot workload.

Globally, more than 360 H225 and H225M helicopters are in service, collectively accumulating over one million flight hours. The platform is also widely used by military operators in countries including Brazil, France, Hungary, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Thailand.
