The Vallair CFM56-5B3/P engine will undergo immediate teardown and part-out to support Setna iO’s in-stock, ready-to-go material.

Vallair, a mature asset specialist, has successfully sold a CFM International CFM56-5B3/P engine (ESN 779525) to Setna iO, a global leader in aftermarket aircraft and engine components. The engine will undergo immediate teardown and part-out to support Setna iO’s in-stock, ready-to-go material. Setna iO and Vallair have established a strong relationship through asset trading and component repairs. This deal follows the complete teardown of two Airbus A320-200 airframes, which was carried out by Vallair’s AFRA-accredited facility in Montpellier on behalf of Setna iO in Q2 of 2023.

“We are working to extend this co-operation further to bring additional value to our respective companies and our customers,” said Armando Filho, Material Management Director, Vallair“We already work closely with Setna iO and build business together in a mutually sustainable way. This is a blueprint for successful business growth between both parties,” he further added.

Vallair offers a streamlined range of multi-specialist services, including airframe and engine acquisition, dismantlement, in-house aerostructure repairs, component repairs, technical services, and parts sales. Vallair’s aerostructures shop in Châteauroux, France, actively supports Setna iO and is the preferred repair provider for nacelles and flaps, offering competitive turnaround times. Once the teardown process of the CFM56 engine is complete, Setna iO plans to repair all in-demand components to support their airline, lessor, and MRO customers worldwide.

“We have been working together with Vallair for several years now and continue to leverage their experienced teams to manage a range of component repairs,” said, Hunter Edens, Head of Commercial, Setna iO. “Our business is centred on providing in stock, ready-to-go used serviceable materials to our commercial, regional, and business jet customers. Identifying the correct asset and executing the acquisition is only the first part of our internal process. Partnering with a vertically integrated company like Vallair allows us to not only disassemble assets on-site at their facility, but also reduce our turnaround time by utilising their in-house maintenance and repair facility which covers a wide variety of components. Once the teardown process of this engine is complete, we will repair all in-demand components to support our airline, lessor, and MRO customers worldwide,” he further added.
