Uzbekistan Airways extends Lufthansa Technik component support

Uzbekistan Airways has signed a long-term agreement with Lufthansa Technik for comprehensive component support covering its Boeing 787 and Airbus A320ceo/neo fleets through 2035.

Under the agreement, Lufthansa Technik will provide component pool support and spare-parts supply for the airline’s aircraft, providing access to serviceable replacement components for maintenance and operational requirements.

The programme covers both Uzbekistan Airways’ widebody Boeing 787 fleet and its Airbus A320ceo/neo narrowbody fleet, extending component support across its main aircraft types.

Component Pool and Supply Support

The agreement provides Uzbekistan Airways with access to Lufthansa Technik’s component pool and supply network.

The support covers the provision of replacement components when units are removed from aircraft for maintenance or require replacement following technical defects. The long-term arrangement is designed to support component availability across the airline’s fleet through 2035.

For the airline, the agreement provides a defined component-support structure alongside its ongoing fleet renewal and expansion.

Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, stated, “Over the past three decades, Lufthansa Technik has proven to be a reliable and trusted partner for Uzbekistan Airways. As demand for air travel continues to grow and Uzbekistan further expands its role as an aviation hub in Central Asia, this agreement provides important support for our fleet modernization and expansion plans. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration and building on the success of our partnership.”

Agreement Extends Three-Decade Partnership

The new contract extends a relationship that began in 1993, when Uzbekistan Airways introduced its first Airbus A310-300.

Lufthansa Technik has subsequently supported the airline’s changing fleet and maintenance requirements. The new agreement extends the component-support relationship for another nine years.

Dr. Christian Leifeld, Chief Financial Officer of Lufthansa Technik, said, “This agreement reflects the exceptional partnership we have built with Uzbekistan Airways over more than 30 years. Extending our collaboration until 2035 is a strong testament to the mutual trust and fruitful cooperation between our companies. We are proud to continue supporting the airline’s Boeing 787 and Airbus A320 fleets as Uzbekistan Airways advances its growth and modernization strategy. Lufthansa Technik remains fully committed to delivering the reliability, expertise and long-term support required for the airline’s continued success.”

Support Through 2035

The agreement gives Uzbekistan Airways long-term component support as it continues to operate and modernise its Boeing 787 and A320ceo/neo fleets.

With component pool access and supply services included in the contract, Lufthansa Technik will support the airline’s requirements for replacement units across its fleet through 2035.

The agreement therefore extends Lufthansa Technik’s role in Uzbekistan Airways’ component support beyond three decades of cooperation and into the next phase of the airline’s fleet development.
