The new Chinook will give US Special Operations Forces significantly more capability for extremely challenging missions and will enable them to conduct those missions on the future battlefield

10 September 2020: In a major step for the Chinook program, Boeing Philadelphia team recently delivered US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) with the latest Block II Chinook helicopter. Boeing will be delivering at total of 23 more MH-47G Block II Chinooks to the SOCOM as per the July contract.

After delivering the helicopter on time, Andy Builta, vice president and MH-47 program manager said, “The new Chinook will give US Special Operations Forces significantly more capability for extremely challenging missions and will enable them to conduct those missions on the future battlefield.”

Boeing has more than 4,600 employees in Pennsylvania supporting Chinook, the V-22 Osprey, MH-139A Grey Wolf and a number of services and engineering efforts.
