TrueNoord signs lease agreement with Breeze Airways for three Embraer E190 jets.
The newly leased aircraft are part of a portfolio of ten Embraers that TrueNoord acquired from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) in early 2023.

Breeze Airways with the new Embraer E190 jets from TrueNoord focuses on providing low-cost, non-stop routes to 35 underserved destinations throughout the United States.

TrueNoord, the specialist regional aircraft lessor, has finalized operating lease agreements with Breeze Airways for three Embraer E190s. These aircraft, with serial numbers MSN 1900055, 1900070, and 1900132, are currently based in the US and are already in operation across the Breeze Airways network. Breeze Airways focuses on providing low-cost, non-stop routes to 35 underserved destinations throughout the United States.

The newly leased aircraft are part of a portfolio of ten Embraers that TrueNoord acquired from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) in early 2023. This transaction has not only introduced new lessee airlines from North America, Canada, and South Africa but has also expanded TrueNoord’s fleet presence with existing European airline customers in France and Portugal.

Garry Topp, Sales Director – Americas, TrueNoord said, “We are very pleased to further expand our footprint in North America by adding three Breeze Airways’ operated Embraers to our portfolio. Breeze is shaping a strong and expanding business by offering point-to-point travel to new city pairs. This fly-direct option is delivering a sustainable and practical choice for US travellers, rather than transit through the large city hubs. As a lessor, TrueNoord specialises in the regional airline sector, and Breeze is innovating in this sector, so we see them as an excellent fit and welcome them to our global lessee family.”

Topp further noted that the commercial market in the US is currently strong, with passenger demand surpassing pre-pandemic levels. However, he acknowledged that the regional aviation sector has faced challenges due to the acute shortage of pilots, which has disproportionately affected this segment of the industry. Looking ahead, Topp stated that the market is recovering, with recruitment and training programs expanding across the US to meet the demand for aircrew.

Garry Topp, Sales Director – Americas, TrueNoord said, “Going forward, the market is recovering with recruitment and training programmes building up across the US for more aircrew. The vast US market will always require regional connectivity for shorter and less dense routes at an attractive trip cost. New entrants like Breeze Airways are finding innovative ways to develop this sector by creating new routes and expanding customer choice. For TrueNoord, the regional aviation sector in the US offers interesting opportunities for fleet renewal now and in the future as older aircraft are retired.”
