TrueNoord marks a decade of growth as it strengthens fleet strategy with E195-E2

TrueNoord is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of strategic growth, global expansion and long-term partnerships that have established the company as a leading player in the regional aviation leasing market.

Since its launch in 2016, the lessor has expanded its portfolio to more than 100 regional aircraft operating with over 30 airline customers across 25 countries, while building a reputation for providing flexible leasing, financing, fleet transition and asset management solutions for regional operators worldwide.

The milestone comes as the company enters its next phase of growth, supported by new investment, an expanding fleet and its first direct aircraft order with Embraer, reinforcing its commitment to the future of regional aviation.

Speaking on the company’s 10-year journey, Anne-Bart Tieleman, Chief Executive Officer of TrueNoord, said the anniversary represents far more than fleet expansion. “Ten years ago, we set out with a clear purpose and a belief that there was an important role for a dedicated regional aircraft lessor in the global aviation market. We’re not only celebrating the scale we have achieved, but the relationships we have built. Every aircraft in our fleet, every transaction completed and every milestone reached has been made possible by the trust of our customers and the support of our financial partners through changing market cycles,” he said.

Tieleman also credited the company’s workforce for driving its success over the past decade. “Our greatest asset has always been, and continues to be, our people. We have assembled an exceptional team of talented professionals who share a passion for aviation and an unwavering commitment to our customers. Their hard work, integrity and determination have enabled us to achieve results that exceeded even our own expectations, cultivating a diverse and loyal global airline customer base while earning a reputation for reliability, creativity and execution,” he added.

Strategic investment

As part of its long-term growth strategy, TrueNoord recently welcomed Arcus Infrastructure Partners as its new lead investor alongside existing investor Freshstream, strengthening the company’s financial position and providing additional capital to pursue future opportunities in the regional aviation sector.

One of the most significant milestones in the company’s history has been the signing of its first-ever direct Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) order with Embraer for 20 factory-new E195-E2 regional jets.

The order represents a major investment in next-generation regional aircraft and will enable TrueNoord to offer airline customers more fuel-efficient, environmentally sustainable and passenger-friendly fleet solutions. Deliveries are scheduled to commence during the second half of 2027.

The E195-E2 order also reflects growing confidence in regional aviation as airlines increasingly seek modern aircraft capable of delivering lower operating costs, improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions while supporting expanding regional connectivity.

Long-term aftermarket opportunities

For the MRO industry, the continued growth of regional aircraft leasing companies such as TrueNoord signals sustained opportunities across aircraft maintenance, component support, technical asset management and fleet transitions.

Modern regional aircraft require comprehensive lifecycle support, including maintenance planning, engine services, landing gear overhauls, component repair programmes and digital asset management. As leasing companies expand their portfolios, demand for integrated maintenance services continues to grow throughout an aircraft’s operational life.

TrueNoord’s expanding fleet and upcoming induction of Embraer’s E2 family will create additional opportunities for OEMs, MRO providers and supply chain partners supporting next-generation regional aircraft platforms.

Looking ahead, TrueNoord says its strategy extends beyond traditional aircraft leasing by offering airlines long-term partnerships that support fleet renewal, operational flexibility and sustainable business growth. “Regional aviation is far more than a segment of the industry. It is an enabler of economic growth, social connectivity and essential services. We see enormous potential in aviation markets globally for regional aircraft to help unlock opportunities, stimulate investment and connect people and businesses to the wider world,” Tieleman said.

He added that the company remains committed to delivering expertise, flexibility and customer-focused solutions while supporting commercial airlines, infrastructure development and special mission operators.

“The next decade begins with the same values that guided our first. We are ambitious, disciplined and focused on creating long-term value for our customers and stakeholders. We are proud of what we have achieved, grateful to everyone who helped us reach this point, and excited by the opportunities that lie ahead,” he concluded.

With a fleet exceeding 100 aircraft, strengthened financial backing and a growing portfolio of next-generation regional jets, TrueNoord is positioning itself to play an increasingly important role in supporting airline fleet modernisation and the evolving global regional aviation ecosystem. For the MRO sector, the company’s continued expansion reinforces the growing importance of leasing companies in driving demand for long-term maintenance, technical asset management and aftermarket support throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
