Transport Canada has approved AerSale’s AerAware Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) for Boeing 737 Next Generation (737NG) aircraft, allowing Canadian operators to install the mixed-reality technology designed to improve pilot situational awareness during low-visibility operations.
The approval expands the system’s international certification footprint following earlier regulatory clearances in the US and Brazil.
AerAware combines a wearable head-up display with enhanced vision sensors to provide pilots with real-time imagery of the runway environment and surrounding terrain. The system is intended to improve visibility during approach, landing and taxi operations whilst aiding the flight crews to maintain situational awareness in adverse weather conditions.
“Transport Canada’s validation of AerAware is more than just regulatory approval—it’s a recognition of our mission to redefine flight safety and pilot visibility,” said Nicolas Finazzo, AerSale’s Chief Executive Officer. “AerAware represents a new era of aviation technology, one where advanced vision systems become standard equipment for operators worldwide. We are proud to lead this transformation and to bring our breakthrough technology to Canadian skies.”

Transport Canada’s certification enables Canadian Boeing 737NG operators to adopt the technology in their flight operations. AerSale stated that the approval reflects the growing acceptance of enhanced flight vision systems by aviation regulators and supports broader deployment of the technology across international markets.
The AerAware system received approval from the US FAA in 2023 and has since secured additional certifications expanding its availability to more commercial operators. AerSale develops the system as part of its portfolio of engineered aviation solutions alongside its MRO, aircraft leasing, and aftermarket support businesses.
