Transcend Aero Services orders two B737-800SF freighter aircraft from AEI.
Additionally, AEI can convert all 737-800 line-number aircraft, including those with Split Scimitar winglets and Flat Aft Pressure Bulkheads.

The first aircraft is commencing modification in December 2022 and the second will commence modification in March 2023 and will be modified at Commercial Jet’s Miami, Florida facility.

The Singapore-based Transcend Aero Services (Transcend) has placed an order for two AEI B737-800SF freighter conversions, Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is happy to announce. With this agreement, Transcend places AEI as its first order for freighter conversion. Beginning in December 2022, modifications will be made to the first 737-800 aircraft (MSN 35217). The aircraft will receive conversion-related touch-up work from the authorized AEI Conversion Center, Commercial Jet, based in Dothan, Alabama. The second 737-800 will start undergoing modifications in March 2023 at Commercial Jet’s facility in Miami, Florida.

“We are pleased that Transcend has chosen the AEI B737-800SF freighter conversion over both our competitors’, and welcome them to the AEI family,” stated Robert T. Convey, AEI’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.

As of right now, only AEI has received ETOPS 180 approval for the 737-800 freighter conversion. Additionally, AEI can convert all 737-800 line-number aircraft, including those with Split Scimitar winglets and Flat Aft Pressure Bulkheads.

The AEI converted B737-800SF freighter features eleven full-height 88″ x 125″ container positions, an additional position for an AEP/AEH, and a main deck payload of up to 52,700 lbs (23,904 kg). The conversion also features a large 86″ x 137″ Main Cargo Door with a single vent door system and new floor beams behind the wing box.

Because of AEI’s innovative design, containers can be loaded into the aircraft 16.5″ to the full aft of the forward door jamb. This gives ground operators enough room to maneuver and reduces the risk of door and aircraft strikes. A flexible Ancra Cargo Loading System, a rigid 9g barrier, five extra seats as standard, a galley, and a full bathroom are also included in the AEI B737-800SF.
