The Trent XWB for Lufthansa A350 maintenance in N3 from autumn 2016

N3 Engine Overhaul Services (N3), a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik since 2007 AG and Rolls-Royce, will host from October 2016 in its workshops Arnstadt first Trent XWB that propel the Airbus A350-900 Lufthansa. The German company expects its first copies from the second half of 2016.

Strategically located in the center of Germany, allowing easy and quick transport of engines from hubs in Frankfurt, Munich (next base of Lufthansa A350), and Luxembourg Amsterdam, N3 has a workforce of 600 employees. The company intervenes only on the engines of the Trent family, the Trent 500 (Airbus A340), the Trent 700 (A330) via the Trent 900 (A380) and now the Trent XWB.

The license allows N3 working on the latest engine Rolls-Royce is expected to be issued soon by the German authorities of civil aviation. To date, N3 works with over 20 airlines worldwide. For eight years, the British-German MRO provider took care of more than 680 Trent engines. Its activity is expected to remain constant over the next two years, with a significant rise expected in 2017 with the arrival of the new generation Trent engine.
