Thai and Royal Thai Navy sign MOU to develop aircraft maintenance centre and air cargo and logistics centre

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), an airlines business that transport passengers, goods, parcels and postal and the Royal Thai Navy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on phase one in development of the new aircraft maintenance centre as well as the air cargo and logistics centre in the presence of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha.

The MOU was signed by Usanee Sangsingkeo, THAI Acting President, and Admiral Na Areenit, Royal Thai Navy Commander-in-Chief, with Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister and Akhom Tempittayapaisit, Minister of Transport present as guest of honor at the ceremony that was held at U-Tapao International Airport.

The development of Aircraft Maintenance Centre & Air Cargo and Logistics Centre will expand the Special Eastern Economic Corridor, promoting Thailand to become a key aviation and logistics hub. THAI and the Royal Thai Navy will collaborate and exchange information. Besides, a joint study will also be conducted towards the first phase of developing the aircraft maintenance and air cargo and logistics hub for the Asia Pacific region at U-Tapao International Airport, Thailand.
